Is there really that much of a difference between the 720 and the new 1080 i Lcd TV's?

Despite what people will tell you, there isn't a huge difference unless you:

a) sit VERY close to your TV
b) have a VERY large TV (65"+)

Not really. Most HD TV stations broadcast in 1080i, so you'll be stuck watching TV in 1080i.

As for games, the 720 does look a little better, but it's not a whole lot better. You'll most likely not be able to see the difference between 1080i and 720p unless know what the TV is displaying.

Most people won't be able to see the difference anyway. You will need a big screen tv to see it.
