He and I are loved by all and many want to see us go thru and be happy and many others feel it;s weird, wrond, immoral, etc.... btw... we are both over 30

Listening to their advice is one thing, however you don't have to take it. You and him are both old enough to make your own choices and the people close to you should know that. Just let everyone talk, let them give their advice, all you have to do is listen, not necessarily put meaning into it.

Who cares what other people think? It's your lives, and you two will chose to live it how you see fit. If you two are happy and want to be together for the rest of your lives, then go for it. Nothing other people say should change that(especially when you're both over 30). Just let them know that this is the life you chose, that this is who you chose, and you will love whoever you chose. Say that you appreciate their concern, but you have made your decision and wish to see it through till the end.

It all depends on the advice - not all free advice is always wrong. However, if they say something I really don't want to hear I simply respond by saying "thank you for the interest, but I am pretty sure I got this far in life by using my own logic", "my mother didn't always make my decisions for me you know". Then people seem to get the picture loud and clear to leave you the hell alone!

Take my advice and DON'T listen to other people's advice. The decision is yours and his and they should have nothing to do with it. Both of you are old enough to make your own decisions.
