I'm new to Y! Answers, and I like the whole idea. But I can't understand why when someone asks a religion or *gasp* evolution vs. creationism question, and a bible believer answers, the bible believer's answer *always* gets bad reviews and the evolutionist's answer *always* gets good reviews. Could someone please clarify this situation to me? I personally don't want to be active in a community which is going to rate answers based on agree/disagree instead of whether or not the answer is a good one.

Actually a lot of the time the atheist view gets bad reviews too. Seriously the fundamentalists are just as bad, they will report you for abuse, often for no real reason if you present a non-christian angle. But I know the atheists are really censorious. Its too bad people can't just have a dialogue and not try to blast each other because they can't handle a different viewpoint.

You could try asking questions like you describe above by going to the international sites listed at the bottom of this site. You might get better answers.
I ask a lot of questions on religion and get many thumbs down in the answers. I have an advantage, I can rate their answer a bad answer. I have another advantage which may answer your question: many don't bother to do research on the question, they just give their opinion which isn't worth anything! Its up to you to decide if the answer is good. With me, I know what I'm talking about. People keep a closed mind on religion, and creation, evolution, etc. they don't explore those questions & answers outside the Bible. And they don't read about theology as it pertains to those subjects. Stick around for awhile longer and see what develops.

While your use of the word "always" is nothing more than Rhetoric, attempting to make a point without using logic, but an emotional appeal for manipulation, it usually isn't true that Bible waivers are automatially given bad ratings, and the evolutionists always gets good reviews.
This is something that happens on both sides of the fence, and usually it is based off of who asks the question.
When it's the Bible thumpers side, they thumbs down the evolutionists, and thumbs up each others answers, and vice versa on the evolutionists side. I've given answers critical of both sides, no sides, my own sides, and, since I don't always "go with the flow" usually rate my answers by number of thumbs down.
On this forum, there are no ratings based off of quality of answers, but usually are "Rah Rah" cheerleading supports, with a mutual congratulations society of those who agree, or disagree with the point made.
It sounds like you stand on the bible side of things. It's going to be that way, since you will be going head to head with people who *don't* believe the Bible to be an authority worth listening too, and if that is all you've got, expect people to laugh at you.
If you want to get someone to listen to you, answer questions without quoting the Bible, or mindlessly repeating the garbage that some idiot tele-evangelist spoon feeds out to his congregation of Rubes.
If you're going to be on the Atheist side, then try and use logic, I know some people on here have heard of logic, I'd just like to see some answers from the "skeptic" camp that doesn't start with:
"Christians are idiots"

Seems as though everyone always rates the answers based on their opinion. If they agree with the answer, they give it a thumbs up, if they disagree, they give it a thumbs down. The scenario you mention works both ways. Sometimes an atheist will ask a question and all the bible believers will answer the question, then give themselves and like opinions thumbs up, and all of the (obvious) atheist answers a thumbs down. Everyone seems to stick together and rate according to their own beliefs. I don't see that changing around here.

One could easily argue that the evolutionists get the good reviews because they back their answers up with logic and scientific fact, whereas the people who defend the Bible can only site one source.

People will usually rate a question based on what they agree with mostly because that is what they truly think is the most logical answer.

Why is it that pro-islam answers to islam-based questions get bad peer ratings on Y! Answers?
Sometimes an answer is even voted as best answer, whereas the answer is not even correct or misguides the person seeking a correct answer.
I also like the whole idea of Y! Answers, but unfortunately many people like to spread hatred and intolerance.
I suggest you ignore the people who are just here for their own entertainment and pay attention to the positive people and the real truth seekers.

When there are allot of believers on then believers get all the thumbs up, when there are allot of Atheist on then the thumbs go there way, the ratings truly have nothing to do with good answer or bad people here took that idea to another level. I don't think Atheist even read Christian's answers they just see the first sentence and if there is a tell tell sign in that one line that you are Christian you get a thumbs down....

Clearly the users of Yahoo Answers prefer evolution over the Bible. If you are only interested in pro-Bible responses then perhaps you should seek out a Christian-only forum.

If I don't agree with someone I find it hard to give the thumb up to their opinion. I believe in God and I think our current world was created through a process of evolution. Are you going to give me a positive rating? I wouldn't expect it.
But I don't rate everyone. Really good or really offensive answers make me want to "thumb em"!
Hope you hang around. It can be an enlightening forum.

Actually, I've been on here for a while and I've seen more non-believers get bad ratings than the believers.
