Mel didn't make this story up! It came straight from the words of the Bible! It was the truth.

Don't get me started on Mel Gibson/ In one day he went from one of my all time favorites to ,,,,,,(can't say I will be deleted} He grew up in a house where his father was an antisemiteand said the Holacaust is a LIE, He never refuted these continual statements by his father. Mel who is supposed to be a devote Christian should have learned the Vatacian, the Holy Sea has said officially that the Jews did not kill Jesus. The movie, which I saw, was great but the underlying tone of antisemetism was disgusting and his apology was insincere.

No because if you know the bible, both the Old and New but especially the New Testament , and you have seen the movie, you already know that the Movie was based pretty much entirely on the scripture, except for a few artistic innovations. But the innovation was only concerning the visible portrayal of Satan in the mivie, otherwise they scenes and happenings were right on, exactly what the New Testament says.Only a person who doesn't know anything about either of these things would ask this question.
You should have simply read the NT to find out, because how do you know what anyone says up here is true unless you read it and see for yourself. If you do, then you will find that what I have said is true. Truth not based on sentimental feelings and desires alone but on accuracy.

I have no doubt Mel Gibson is antisemitic. But no he made "The Passion" to make Christians look good. And he did a damn good job. He needs his a'ss kicked for what he said about the Jewish people. But I an Atheist loved The Passion. I especially loved it when the crow pecked out the guys eye ball. As far as the Jewish people being responsible for the death of Christ. That is the point the Bible is trying to make isn't it. Christ betrayed by Gods chosen people?

He was under a lot of pressure and he snapped. What he did was wrong, but I think it could have happened to anyone of us.
He made a movie about his faith and the fact that Jesus was crucified is historically accurate (Josephus, Roman sources, christian sources) and he was attacked as being anti-semitic. I think that was wrong. Especially having seen the movie. He did try to balance out that not all jews were to blame. It was the jewish leaders at that time and the Romans at that time.
It's like someone saying "Schindler's List" is anti-German.
He faced a lot of persuction and he didn't handle it the right way. He has my pity and my respect (because of the film).
Reason why I say the Passion is not racist.
Simon, a jew, was helping Jesus to carry the cross and he got angry at the Romans because they continued to beat Jesus and said he would carry it anymore if they didn't stop.
1. you see a jew standing up for Jesus (a jew who didn't even know Him)
and the Roman gets mad and says, "carry the cross, jew!!!"
2. You see jews being discriminated against and having racial slurs thrown at them.

No, I don't think so. Well, the fact that Jesus really killed by the Jews. But that's not the point of the passion. The point is, Jesus died in tragically condition and so sufferring. That's Mel's point

uhmmm!!!
the passion was made before he was found drunk
and he clearly denied ALL connection to being antisemetic.
The JEWS did not Kill Jesus.
jesus said vengence is mine, I will repay.
as far as i know when on the cross jesus Prayed unto the Father and asked that "THEY" be forgiven because they "KNEW not what they do".
after he died I only KNOW of 2 people that died horrible cursed deaths.
I think it was only those two people that were guilty Altogether for conspiring to Murder Jesus.
However there were many Jews in the courtyard of pilate that yelled out to crucify Jesus. Therefore their shame went with THEM to their grave. If i remember correctly, they also cursed their children with the blood of jesus on their hands too as well.

Jewish groups who saw the movie before it went public did not think it made Jews look bad. That was all hype before the movie was seen.

The most profitable and the most bloody of all Christ movies. Christians delight in watching gory pain and suffering. Mel knows what sells. I think this was also his most bloody movie and his most profitable. I would expect more of the same.

Wow. Yeah, that whole Savior of the world dying for the sins that we could never be good enough to fix had nothing to do with the reason for creating the film. Seriously, this is absurd.
