Why would God favour one group of people over another? We as human beings know in our hearts that it's not right if we do it. Wouldn't he love all beings and creatures equally? He created us ALL. I personally believe that the whole point in life is to live. It's all about the experiences and learning from those experiences. Why would God disfavour those who made mistakes and learned from them? Not everyone is lucky enough to have a positive upbringing. Some of us are more lost than others. Why would someone who is raised in violence, and only knows violence be punished for that very violence when God aloud him to be born into that violence in the first place? If God wanted to favor some over others, what would be the point in allowing the "unworthy" people to live at all? To even come into existence in the first place? I happen to believe in the Society of the Novus Spiritus. In our religion we respect all religions, because ultimately it's all the same. Be good to yourself and all those around you. But we don't believe in Hell, or Satan. Luckily in this religion you can still practice other faiths and go to other churches with family without fear of sin. We believe god is smart enough to know our souls and what our intentions are. Hope I helped.

Those who love God are indeed His chosen people. In the Old Testament it was usually the Jewish (ethnic) people, although there are instances where God "chose" non-Jews to carry on His work.
In the New Testament, the apostle Paul tells us that the true "Jew" is anyone who loves God and keeps His commandments. The letter of the law is not what's important, but the spirit of the law. So, God's chosen people are simply those who CHOOSE to love Him. Would you be capable of loving someone who not only didn't love you, but either hated you or didn't even believe you existed in the first place? I know I wouldn't be able to, but God loves us all. Its we who deny Him, live our lives the way we wish to, not being willing to accept His mercy and love.
We can't be "chosen" if we choose not to be...

his chosen nation was chosen to take the good news of salvation to the world , they rejected this task at the crucifixion
(generally as a nation. however some jews such as joseph of arimathea & nicodemus accepted the grace offered)
so the task was passed on to the gentiles
( ordinary everyday underdogsat the time) who gladly took the gospel to others.
revelation tells us that those who love god will keep the commandments of god & the faith of jesus

i used to struggle with this too coming into church from the outside , i thought that those born in the church were more special to god .
but christ died for all , no matter your race or your past

As for me I dont beleive there is a "Chosen People", atleast not in the term often used. Some religions beleive that they are chosen but Islam is very straight on that. Islam says that if you truly beleive you would do actions, and on the same hand realizes that you can never do enough and only Allah's mercy will grant you paradise. Because how can you be the worst sinner, not repent at all, not feel fear, not do good deeds and say I beleive?. So you might be a chosen person but only saints know that in this life and they don't make a show of it, as for normal people if we enter paradise then we were the chosen people if not then we werent, so no one can say I am chosen and you are not regardless of their religion, as per my udnerstanding.

The Jews are called the chosen people because God chose them to give His Law, and to have the Messiah.

God knew before the foundation of the world who his chosen people are, the true believers. A true Jew is one inwardly not outwardly as the world thinks. Not everyone who calls upon God is a true believer. He knows who his sheep are, and they can hear his voice.

Please remember that the Old Testament is a history book and the New Testament is about life today. In the Old Testamnent God's chosen people were the Jews. In the New Testament those who believe in Jesus and love him with all their hearts, wether Jew or Gentile will spend eternity with God in Heaven.

I believe those are the chosen one... you hang around this forum long enough and you will notice that it takes a special person to love God, everyone doesn't.

The chosen people were declared to be Israel. at least in christian traditions.

However you are correct, the chosen people in the last days are those that obey and follow him. the spiritual "Israel".
However there is a New and Everlasting covenant that these people have enjoined.
