My asthma doesnt bother me anymore and i havent used meds for years. i workout non stop so breathing isnt a problem. Im going to MEPS soon and im wondering if i should lie or not. I heard i can get into a lot of trouble if i do but this is my dream to go into the Marines. I also heard if you havent taken meds pass age of 13 or didnt have any problems it is ok, but should i really risk it and say I have it when they might find something that will DQ me?

Well honestly n this day and age when manpower is at a premium I do not think they will disqualify for you that, but ask your recruiter more than likely he will tell you if it doesn't bother you now, don't mention it. This exact thing happened to me before I joined the army during desert storm the doctor said it is okay.

I had what is called sports induced asthma, I did not say anything about it at MEPS. I have been lucky enough to not have had a reaccourance. You will learn later as you get familar with the Military system there are ways around things and if you are to have a asthma attack just deny ever having a problem with it.

If it doesn't bother you anymore then don't tell them. If you truly do find out that you have asthma it will be at boot camp and then they will just DQ you. No harm, no foul. Those people at MEPS are just trying to scare you, after all, it is there job to DQ people all the time.

If you lie and then something happens to you while at boot camp and they figure out you had asthma when you were younger you'll get into so much trouble it won't even be funny.

Talk to your Recruiter; do what he tells you to do. If you think you can "wing it" to get around MEPS you shouldn't be shocked when they catch you and DQ you.
Your Recruiter will take care of it.

If you have been given a clean bill of health by a doctor prior to ur MEPS processing, no need to mention it period.

Don't lie. Just don't say anything. Once you get in, they will treat your asthma. They treated mine.
