I need help please!
I've found out my daughter is dating an illegal allien (Colombian) who beats the crap out of her and is pushing her to marry him to get his green card. The guy has overstayed and is in violation of immigration laws. My daughter won't listen to me. Tell me what to do. Thanks

I am fluent in Spanish and I love Latin culture but I can't stand that he's taking advantage of her. I realized he's pressing to marry in order to get his papers. One of her best friends just told me, I did not know. I started to notice a big change in my daughter’s personality.

if he's abusing her, all she can do is call the cops on him. If she doesn't want to do that, there's nothing you can do. You should stay out of your daughters business. But you could still have a discussion with her...now that is probably a goood idea. good luck.

Your daughter has to make the decision. Unless she is minor, you can't do much unless she decides to call the police. You can call the police and perhaps INS to deport him, but you want to make sure that is what she wants to do. Lasting you want is her to get out of control when you make decisions without her agreeing to it. If he wants, he can always come back. It doesn't take genius to jump over the borders. So, you want to be careful just in case. Best thing is for you to talk to her and try to understand what kind of situation she thinks she is in. If things do not go well, you could talk to a lawyer or even D.A. for possible options. I hope you can work this out without getting hurt.

Personally, I would just call the police and go from there. If she doesn't like how she is being treated, then this will work. Otherwise, convincing her to get rid of the guy is the only way I think. You can help her do that by telling her that all she has to do is press charge against him. I'm pretty sure he will be deported even if he is not convicted of any crime. If he is convicted, then he will do some time here and get deported.

Get a restraining order on him if he's really abusing your daughter.

If this is a true plea of help from a desperate father, why don't you just get law enforcement involved yourself?

If you are just a racist and don't like her boyfriend, maybe you should leave her to make her own decisions, even if that means they may be wrong ones. Trying to get him deported because you don't care for him is a cruel and selfish thing to do.

I don't really believe that he "beats the crap out of her" because any dad I know wouldn't let that happen for even a second, no matter what the race of the man and get involved himself, instead of sitting on Yahoo answers acting like his innocent baby is being attacked by a scary brown person.

Have a serious talk with your daughter if you believe she is in danger or think she is being too naive. Marriage is a serious issue no matter what the race of the boyfriend.

Hehehehe...Angry Dad...

Okay, Homer, I don't know why you want to use immigration laws on this as$hole when you can use the more common criminal laws against him. That's like climbing the mountain instead of going around it. Overstaying your welcome? Have you asked him to leave? If he still on your property, you are within full rights of arresting him for tresspassing. Have you seen him assault her? Again, if you have seen this happen, you have to immediately call the cops before you beat the crap out of him. And once he's arrested and charged, let beaurocracy take its course and he will be deported.

If he is an illegal immigrant than just report him to Homeland Security. Just call information and find out the number for their local office.

I had a similar situation in my family. The guy happened to be Mexican and it was my neice. We tend to handle things our own way in family matters. Don't want to air our dirty laundry so to speak. 3 of us followed him to a bar and had a long chat with him. Then took him to the bus station and bought a one way ticket for him back to Mexico city where he was from (with his money not ours) that was 2 years ago never did see him again.

Just call the police to his house and make a phony charge. They have to check his ID and if they find out he's illegal they have to deport him, or just report his car stolen.

Shoot'em. Have him arrested for spouse abuse, when they find he is not a citizen, they'll hopefully deport his girlfriend/beating ***. The first suggestion I think is the best. Two in the chest, one in the head, we'd like 'em alive, but we'll take 'em dead.

if he´s deported, your daughter will probably go with new son in law to his mother country. she´ll send a postcard on your birthday with a picture of your new grandson. are you sure jealousy doesn´t play a part in all this. he is taking your most beloved treasure.

She should press charges against him, not marry him! I doubt immigration will do anything since he is only one person.
