There is always a newer gadget coming out. Actually, during the time you sign the check paying for the gadget, the purchased item becomes "obsolete".

So if you wait for the new one and the new technology, you should never buy anything

You won't be to see the difference between 720 and 1080 anyway, unless you have a big screen tv and you may not even see it then. Most LCD tvs can also support 1080i too so it's a moot point. Go ahead and buy a lcd now, price's going down. Make sure you buy a good brand, don't settle for cheap ones. Samsung, Panasonic, JVC, Vizio, Olevia, Sharp, Westinghouse, Sony are all good brands.

Be careful about the nomenclature that you use. I think you mea 720p LCD TV's and 1080p LCD TV's. 1080p LCD TV's are not worth it because currently, there are only 1080p DVD's and video games. All HD stations output at 720p and 1080p and it will be that way for at least the next 2 years.

Save your money and buy a 720p LCD TV. When cable operators start outputting at 1080p, then it will be time to buy a 1080p TV. People are wasting their money, so they can tell all their friends that they have the latest and greatest TV.
