Disclaimer: No. I don't want a Golden Retriever. That's why it's not on the list.

I have researched the breeds I listed, don't tell me to research them. I am looking for input from people who have owned or have experience with these dogs, excludind bulldogs. I know little about them other than they are lazy and affectionate.

Question: Which should I get? Smooth Fox Terrier, Bull Terrier, Mini Bull Terrier, a type of Bulldog.

I plan on getting two.

Well, I lived with a Bull Terrier for 2 years and she was a handful. She was very friendly with people and acted like the family's baby, but she had her crazy moments. The weirdest thing she would do was put her head in a corner and stay there for like 20 min. I really thought and still think she's crazy.Oh and about the lazy part, I'm not sure of that cause she would run a lot! Now, I've seen mini Bull Terriers and have noticed that they have even more energy than regular Bull Terriers. So it is up to what you really want in a dog.

Smooth Fox Terrier

Haven't owned one but I have spent 23 years in the Dog Fancy so I suggest the Smooth Fox Terrier. I'm not a fan of the others so that's what I have to say :-)
A word of advice on Miniature Bull Terriers, they have LOTS of health problems and will fight with other dogs. You probably already know that doing your research but I had to add it in.
Also you can't really make your decision based on what a bunch of strangers have to say. Go with your heart, but be smart doing that. If I went with my eyes, I would have Sibes rather than Labs just because I'm in love with the way they look.

Tough list to pick from. I would go with an english bulldog. They are super sweet, and SOO cute. But i love bull terriers as well.

It is weird to me that you already have your breeds picked out, but people are still telling you to get something different. And all breeds of dog have their own health problems. Boxers are probably one of the best personalities in a dog, but they also visit the vet A LOT more than normal because of their health issues.

Small dogs are not my pick, all though bulldogs are cool. Be aware, they have allot of health issues and are high maintenance and expensive to buy and keep up, plan on taking to vet at least 1 every 60 days. Consider a french bull dog of boston terrier or just get a BOXER - best dogs every made.

If you are an energetic person who plans to be active with your dogs, then I would say get one of the terriers that you listed.

You also mention your interest in a type of Bulldog. You have your choice of English Bulldog, French Bulldog, or American Bulldog. If you are a quiet person who likes nothing more then curling up on a couch and reading, then the English Bulldog would be the quieter of the three.

Smooth Fox Terrier is the cutest but of course I like Jack Russell's and they look a lot alike. I agree with the poster who said you really should have gievn more info on what you're looking for when asking. But then again, if you've researched, why should you have to ask?

I'd go with a bull dog. I know it's not on the list but have you considered a Boston Terrier?
