whenever i get out of the shower, my face and forehead are RED. I have lots of pimples on my cheeks and forehead also. My cheeks and forehad in general are RED. my mom thought it would be rosacea (sp?) but i highly doubt it. I've seen the photos and such so i dont think so. I hate my skin because no matter what i do to my face, i've tried many creams, my face breaks for no sudden reason. i have no money for dermantologist and i am 14. I dont know why i have red cheeks and forehead i just do and i hate it. help.

it does sound like rosacia, but, at the same time, it sounds like you might be irritating your skin... you might be allergic to one of the ingredients in the creams you are using.....

try this to find out....

take a wash cloth, and rinse it out very well, to get any remaining laundry residue out of it, and get it wet with LUKEWARM water. use that and ONLY that on your face.... dont use soap of any kind, as long as you wash your face once when you wake up and once when you go to sleep, you shouldn't need the soap, at least just to finish the experiment....

if after a week or so it feels like it's getting better, then chances are you're allergic to something you're encountering somewhere along the process...

if you can help it, try not to use makeup for that week, at least not powders or foundations that go on your cheeks or forhead.... try to let the air get to it, and don't rub your face

a lot of products contain salicylic acid, which, if you have certain conditions, like roseacia or diabetes, can get under the top layer of your skin and burn the underlying newly developing skin causing redness or breakouts.... I am diabetic, and i can't use any brand name lotions or makeup because of that.... they do have certain moisturizures that dont' contain it, and a lot of the time, they work better if not the same.

i hope that helps, good luck!!!!

Rosacea doesn't have to be that red. It can be aggrivated by things you eat or drink so take note next time you drink hot drinks (hot chocolate, coffee, etc.), spicey foods, tomato based sauces, alcohol, or caffine. I have rosacea and have exactly what you are describing. I used steriod creams for a couple years and had clear skin but when i get off of it I break out terribly. I was only supposed to be on it for 2 moths. My dermatologist has been weening me off with softer doses of steriod and corizone creams. I would avoid any meds based on treating acne. You will burn your skin and make it worse. use very mild soap such as Cetiphil. You can buy metro cream on line but it is quite expensive sine it is a prescription medication, but that is what I am on oh and also desonide cream (.05%). Recommend talking to a doctor. Your mother or father can take you to a doctor. Your helath is extremely important so take care of yourself. i find it hard to believe your family wont take you to a dr. Go to a free clinic if you have to, or your school nurse. Good Luck

My have two friends with rosacea, and your symptoms sound very similar to theirs. Usual acne doesn't generally create a bunch of pimples on the checks, but focuses on the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin). You might have broken blood vessels causing the redness though too.

The only way to tell is to visit a dermatologist. I'm sure they can prescribe something to help. You say you don't have money for it, but if you're a minor I would think you might be able to qualify for public assistance if it's for a medical condition.

could be rosecea

Rosacea (pronounced "roh-ZAY-sha") is a chronic and potentially life-disruptive disorder primarily of the facial skin, often characterized by flare-ups and remissions. Many have observed that it typically begins any time after age 30 as a redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead that may come and go. In some cases, rosacea may also occur on the neck, chest, scalp or ears. Over time, the redness becomes ruddier and more persistent, and visible blood vessels may appear. Left untreated, bumps and pimples often develop, and in severe cases the nose may grow swollen and bumpy from excess tissue. This is the condition, called rhinophyma (pronounced "rhi-no-FY-muh"), that gave the late comedian W.C. Fields his trademark bulbous nose. In many rosacea patients, the eyes are also affected, feeling irritated and appearing watery or bloodshot.

Sounds very much like rosacea. Since you still live at home ask your mom to take you to the doctor to get this checked out. I have rosacea so don't think it could not be what you have. It is better to get is diagnosed early and start treatment if that is what it turns out to be.

it depends on the shampoo your using. that herbal essence crap makes you break out and dries your scalp. many of my friends have experienced these effects. change your shampoo to see if that's the case.
