I was recently watching FoodNetwork and a lady was on there explaining a "cake" that she bakes. The problem is I only caught the end of it. The only thing I got out of it was that you break peices of regular biscuits, dip them in melted butter, then dip them in a cinnamon and suger mixture and put it into a bundt pan. Does anyone know what this is called and how long does it need to bake and at what temp???? PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks!

No clue, but if you go to the Food Network's site, you can look up shows and find out what was on them and see recipes.

Monkey Bread

Ingredients
4 cans regular-sized biscuits
2/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 sticks margarine

Directions
Cut the biscuits into fourths. Mix the 2/3 cup sugar and cinnamon. Grease a bundt cake pan.

In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar and butter. Bring to boil. Remove from heat.

Dip the biscuits into the sugar-cinnamon mixture and place into the bundt pan (add any remaining cinnamon mixture to the brown sugar mixture). Sprinkle the nuts over the top. Pour the brown sugar mixture over the top of the nuts and biscuits.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 to 40 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately – and carefully – turn onto a serving platter.

Suggestions
To eat, pull the bread apart with your fingers. Enjoy!

Monkey bread

Monkey Bread

4 cans Refrigerated biscuits
1 1/2 c. Brown sugar
1 t. Cinnamon
3/4 c. Butter or margarine
Preparation

* Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

* Cut biscuits into quarters and coat with an extra mixture of cinnamon and sugar if desired, makes it EXTRA good!

* Melt remaining ingredients together in a small saucepan.

* Place half of biscuit quarters into a greased Bundt pan and sprinkle chopped pecans or raisins on top if you have them on hand.

* Pour 1/2 of butter mixture over the top and repeat with remaining biscuits.

* Bake for 30-40 minutes.

Expanding on your monkey bread recipe - I keep the cinnamon sugar mixture in a "saved" bread bag in the freezer. I mix enough to have for several uses and drop the cut up biscuits right into the bag and shake them to coat. You can use butterscotch pudding mix in place of the cinnamon sugar, cut down on the brown sugar just a bit. Also to make a savory variety try using garlic powder, rosemary or ??? and some grated cheese and chopped onion, instead of the sweet ingredients.

If you saw it on The Food Network, then try getting the actual recipe by going to their website and look up the cook host's name or the name of the show. If you don't know either, then try to look for the show by the time and day it aired on. If you have no idea at all, you can also try looking for recipes from the show called "Sugar" also aired on The Food Network. The lady in that show, all she does is make desserts.

Wayne, I went to High School in the 1970s and I had a wonderful Agnostic teacher who refused to go to any religious related assemblies and asked to be allowed to offer a study hall for those who chose not to attend them. He was very bright and I learned a great deal from him at that time. I felt like he had an interesting point of view and allowed me to question him and questioned me in the process so that I would begin thinking openly about my beliefs. I attended five different Colleges around our state and had a number of great instructors who did the same type of questioning. I found it rather enlightening even though I later decided to become a Christian. Being open-minded and thinking does not mean that you adopt someones views. It means that you are open enough to listen and think about what others say without judging them for those thoughts. I am thankful to have been exposed to this at that time. I also believe that a person can call me narrow-minded without being so them-self. I am rather narrow-minded at times. Have a great evening and a wonderful week. Thanks, Eds .
