one time, i've seen this old man, about 65-70 yrs old who's skin on his arm is full of black marks. then i realized it's tattoo. the tatoo looks really ugly when your skin is wrinkly.

Only you will know that Hon. all we can do is give you our Opinions.

I LOVE my tattoo! I always wanted one, but my hubby wouldn't allow it. I treated myself to a "divorce" gift at the beginning of the year, and have never looked back. If you are afraid of regretting it later, put it somewhere that you will be able to cover up later in life. Mine is on my left side lower back, just above my butt. I can cover it up whenever I want. Now on your leg or arm, it's a bit more difficult. Think carefully about what you want to have, and where to put it. Don't go too big, and ask your tattoo artist for advice. Certain areas of skin stretch more than others, so your tattoo could start out as a cat, and turn into a leopard in 20 years time. (LOL) And ENJOY! Don't listen to those who curse tattoo's! It is a matter of personal choice.

Read through the Yahoo Answer questions under skin and body - tons of them are about tatoo removal. I would never get a tatoo - a little too permanent for me.

Having regrets is lame.

Getting a tattoo is an amazing experience. The pain is addicting.

I have a few tattoos. One is a few years old now. I don't really like it anymore, but I still love it. It is a part of who I was at the time. Something I was passionate about. It is a part of me, and something I will always remember.

Just make sure you check out the tattoo parlors in your area. You want to find one that is certified and clean in general.

nobody knows but you. do you often regret doing things? it is always possible that you'll regret getting a tattoo. i, myself have never regretted having a tattoo. even tho i have gotten some of my tattoos covered up, i don't regret them. i just regret not researching them better. do your research. don't get something on the fly. make sure it is something that you love and will love for a long time. don't get flash. go to a great tattoo artist. look at as many portfolios as it takes til you find the aritst for you. don't just go to someone because the price is right. cheap tattoos often end up sucking.

also, to the people who talk about older women having tattoos... women have been getting tattoos since tattoos have been around. not every culture attaches a negative attitude to tattoos. i am fairly certain that there are more 60-80 year old women walking around with tattoos. you may not see them, but they are there.

I feel that if you jump in without thinking, there is a possibility of regret.

I wanted one, thought about it for several months, decided on the location (back of my neck), considered the design, found a great artist, and then did it.

I enjoyed the process, love the tattoo, and, after six years, I don't regret it.

I am currently considering a new design, and am looking forward to the next one.

I agree with everyone else, it does depend on what you get. I went to get an angel done in remembrance of my grandfather and 7 years later the angel looks demonic. I wish I had researched it more then I did and I had looked into sketched talked to people etc for a long time. Just be 100 % sure that's what you want to get. Best of luck!

it depends on what you get.
NEVER get a band name or some ones name other than your child.
get something that means something. something about you that will never change. and then get it in a spot where you can hide it if you want to. it doesn't always have to show.

and the reason you don't see a 70 year old woman with a tattoo is because back then it was uncouth for a woman to do that.
but rest easy you wont be the only one in the old folks home with one now a days!

I would only regret getting a tattoo if I got something stupid like a cartoon character or something cliche like a butterfly. because I wasn't thinking. I would also regret getting a tattoo if I went to a skechy artist because he was cheap or "just up the road" I've put alot of thought in tattoos and only would/have gotten one is it was something that I helped designed and meant something to me. but this is me. Honestly honey, I donno if you are gonna regret getting a tattoo because I am not you and I dont know you personally to judge whether or not you would regret it. but just think about this, pick something you know you will like, and has meaning to you and not something you saw on the wall or something common, also make sure you do some research look for a good, clean tattoo artist, someone with good experience, look for people who have tattoos and ask them who tattooed them and would they reccommend it. look for testimonials, and look at their portfolios. because a tattoo is something you wither cherish or regret for the rest of your life.

Maybe.
Why not find out for yourself? Ask a good artist to draw a tattoo using Sharpie pen. (available in a rainbow of colors now)
Or try a Henna tattoo.
(Try not washing it / scrubbing it until you want to get rid of it!)

How long till you are sick of seeing the same thing?
Now remember, a tattoo hurts while you are getting it. It hurts for a few days after you get it, might get infected and hurt some more!
Having to get it removed hurts the most.

Still want it. Go to a good clean infection free place. Make sure they sterlize the needles. Enjoy your decision :))
