Gargle with warm salt water every couple of hours...it will soothe the soreness and also help heal it. Don't drink anything for a while after gargling...let the salt stay on your throat. Theraflu ( the kind you mix with warm water) is also very soothing and helps the symptoms.

I am going to give you my common remedy, aat first you probably will not believe me, but after you try it, you will definitely thank me.
Go to the closest store, and buy some Vernors. Yes buy some vernors, the ginger ale made my 7up. You will be so thankful that you tried this.
Ginger has been used my the indians as a medical drug, and the chemicals in ginger will literally take the pain away, I gurantee it!!!
And there is more great news, you will not have to pay the ultimate low price of $19.95, since you are a first purchaser, they will sell it to you for the ultimate low price of $1.25 (depending on where you live and the prices.)
Dont think that the carbonation will cause more pain to your throat, it actually helps, it helps relieve the burning, itching feeling asociated with a sore throat. And it also works well with sore throat lozenges. Try the kind by Riccola, they are fantastic, and delicious as a extra bonus.
Also, if you suffer from flu like symptoms, try using some l00% zinc lozenges. Zinc lozenges makes a significantly higher rate of white blood cells, and strengthens the immune system, more than vitamin C. The result will be more whit blood cells, and a reduced period of how long you will feel sick.
P.S.
I havent had health insurance for years, so when I am sick, I have to resort to all of the old fashioned remedies that my grandmother taught me. Every single time, I feel much better, quicker!!!

There are many different things that you can do to relieve your sore throat. I recommended a home remedy such as a gargle made of salt devolved in warm water or a hot drink made up of hot water, honey and lemon. But if you have tried these and they haven't worked for you, or you just don't have the ingredients, then I recommended a medicated throat lolly or gargle. If non of these give you relief, then I would go to your local GP and he might be able to prescribe you something stronger etc. Hope this helps!!

For sore throat, try gargling with salt stirred into warm water ( as warm as you can take it) several times a day ( it really does help!) as well as eating honey, or drinking any kind of tea ( decaf or herbal such as chamomile) with plenty of honey and lemon, also several times a day. If the soreness still persists then you really should see a doctor because you might need antibiotics. Hope you feel better soon!

Gargle with Listerine antiseptic mouthwash. I had a persistent sore throat once, for almost 2 weeks, tried everything I could think of. I could
hardly swallow. I tried this at someone's
suggestion and I swear I was better the same day. It works better than anything else I tried. The newer flavors aren't so nasty tasting. Feel better!

I'm a nurse. Those sore throat/cough drops over the counter works. Goggle with salt water(warm). Also I would see a doctor if it continues.
