Triamcinolone is a cortisone which stops (or reduces) inflammation. Impetigo is an infection of the skin. If you put a cortisone on impetigo, it lets the infection run rampant. It can lead to a blood infection. You want an antibiotic to kill the infection, like neomycin (Neosporin) to put on it. It also might be necessary to take an oral antibiotic. Your doctor will prescribe that for you.

That's a good reason why it's not a good idea to prescribe for oneself.
