Cops work real cheap. We don't get paid enough at all. It's real sad when sports players can make millions playing a game. We risk our lives daily and get paid so little that most of us work two and three jobs to help make ends meet.

It varies but starting salaries are usually between $30k and $40k. Benifits are usually good, but still cops are underpaid for the amount of crap and stupidity they must deal with while maintaining a professional attitude, and then the amount of danger they encounter.

Honestly they all get paid differently. It widely differs depending on where you work. My hubby is a police officer and he does not make nearly enough money to put up with what he has too and to have his life put in danger. No amount of money is worth my hubby's life!!

Depends on where at. If a city, then obviously more than a rural area. It varies from state to state and county to county. Average I've seen is between $30,000 - $50,000. Most places, it's not enough! I've worked at 3 agencies now and in each, most of the deputies have second jobs.
