what do you do if you are born with more body parts than what you need?

like if you have 11 toes or 9 fingers or 2 penises or something like that

The extra added appendages, like on the outside can be removed. Extra organs on the inside are usually non-functioning and therefore don't cause problems or need to be removed...

The parents oftentimes have the extra part removed.

I just heard a song that keeps going through my head, "the girl for me is a girl with polydactomy" (ie. extra fingers)
