i always give the mites meds just as the vet tells me to. the other cat or dog that is in the house. does not have them and never has

the vet told us to buy them for out cats too. but they never go outside either. and unless you have a severe case of dust mites, there is no need to give them the meds. but if they do ever decide to be outside kitties then start giving them the meds. check every so often to make sure that their ears are clean. use a Qtip and only go around the outside of the ear if they do get a lil dirty. hope i helped

I do not know if your other cat goes out but if you have a dog it [, the dog,] likely goes out to go potty.

The doctor is likely concerned your indoor cat will get something from the dog. Remember parasites have no problem jumping host. They may also be trying to seek reasoning to some problem they see but can't point out to you and are hopeing it's Parasites and not a health problem.

For heaven's sake, buy a bottle of camphor oil, swab the inside of the cat's ear with it (Q-Tip is great for this), mites will be gone.
