Be real and just tell him because if you beat around the bush it makes it so much more harder to let him down easy.

You (not u) can't. He likes you and WILL be hurt when you break up with him. The worst thing you can do is stretch it out to "keep from hurting him." If you are ready to break up do it as quickly as possible. The sooner he gets over it the better. Don't be mean about it but don't let him down slowly either.

Well, I'm a dude, so I can't tell you how I've dumped a man...that'll be gay...but just tell the dude how you really feel, and tell him (if there really is) that chances are still up if you wanna get back together...I guess...
