I have two that I alternate between.
"I'm working."
"I've made plans with friends." Then add some story about they really need the company this year because of emotional issues.

why don't you want to spend christmas with your fam? If you have problem with your family maybe christmas time is the best time for solving that together..don't run away from your family or you will regret it for the rest of your life..
