It's true,vampires love their CHICKEN.
deep fried,fricasied,dumplings,grilled,you name it.

I used to have a few drop over at my place for dinner
and a game of monopoly a few times a week.I always made
Some sort of Chicken dish,as they were, well RAVENOUS
for my superb cooking.

After dinner and a little nip of brandy, our conversations ran the gamut. We talked of religion, politics, philosophy and the like. They were very polite, well dressed, well spoken and courteous.
They never tried to bite me ONCE.I was surprised.

It was some years later, after I recovered my eyesight
from the petrochemical plant explosion that damaged
my retinas in 1976 that
I discovered that they were not vampires at all,..

They were MORMONS. DRAT!

Actually, "Drat" is an exclamation first used by those in mortal terror, ie, "I am so full of Drat!",
In modern parlance, it is used more to describe the frustration encountered by amateur stylists, ie, "Dratlocks!"

The true Transylvanian exclamation you are thinking of is likely,
"Dreck!", inspired by having to cross a chickenyard in one's good boots.
