I have heard that when Islamic people die, they go to a place where they have sex all day with 72 hot virgins who magically regain their virginity. is this true?

NO it's NOT true. The whole concept of virgins is way off. Sheesh... I'm so sick of hearing this propaganda. It's most ignorant thought coming out of idiots. At least you had the sense to ASK about it instead of assuming. So I applaud you.

Nothing in the Koran specifically states that the faithful are allotted 72 virgins apiece. For this elaboration we turn to the hadith, traditional sayings traced with varying degrees of credibility to Muhammad. Hadith number 2,562 in the collection known as the Sunan al-Tirmidhi says, "The least [reward] for the people of Heaven is 80,000 servants and 72 wives, over which stands a dome of pearls, aquamarine and ruby."

Virgins? Sometimes. "Handmaidens"? Sometimes. "hot looking young boys"? Sometimes. "Servants"? Sometimes. You question this and you're called a liar and that the mighty qur'an doesn't really "say" that (altho it does). And that the imans never said that (altho they have). Sigh.
What they (muslims) say depends on the situation. I don't really believe that honesty is a virtue in islam.

I will explain for you
[004:057] But those who believe (in the Oneness of God РIsl̢mic Monotheism) and do deeds of righteousness, We shall admit them to Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), abiding therein forever. Therein they shall have Azw̢jun Mutahharatun (purified mates or wives), and We shall admit them to shades wide and ever deepening (Paradise).
(V.4:57) Having no menses, stools and urine.
[002.025] And give glad tidings to those who believe and do righteous good deeds, that for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). Every time they will be provided with a fruit therefrom, they will say: "This is what we were provided with before," and they will be given things in resemblance (i.e. in the same form but different in taste) and they shall have therein Azwâjun Mutahharatun (purified mates or wives), and they will abide therein forever.

[003:014] Beautified for men is the love of things they covet; women, children, much of gold and silver (wealth), branded beautiful horses, cattle and well-tilled land. This is the pleasure of the present world's life; but God has the excellent return (Paradise with flowing rivers) with Him.
[003:015] Say: "Shall I inform you of things far better than those? For Al-Muttaqûn (the pious. See V.2:2) there are Gardens (Paradise) with their Lord, underneath which rivers flow. Therein (is their) eternal (home) and Azwâjun Mutahharatun (purified mates or wives). And God will be pleased with them. And God is All-Seer of the (His) slaves."
Those are the verses relating to the reward of purified mates in the hereafter. We can't say a number.

[037:040] Except the chosen slaves of God (i.e. the true believers of Islâmic Monotheism).
[037:041] For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise),
[037:042] Fruits; and they shall be honoured,

[037:044] Facing one another on thrones.
[037:045] Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine –
[037:046] White, delicious to the drinkers.
[037:047] Neither will they have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin) from that nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom.
[037:048] And beside them will be Qâsirât-at-Tarf [chaste females (wives), restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands)], with wide and beautiful eyes.
[037:049] (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved.
[037:050] Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning.
[037:051] A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world),
