it was just as i expected since it had been described to me in detail by my mom who had visited it the year before I was born.

No, I was not surprised as it looked fantastically huge even from afar. Walked up the inside and saw the making of Statue of Liberty which was amazing, the kind of labour and effort put in.

It looked smaller than I expected and the inside seemed very cramped and somewhat dangerous. I just remember a ridiculously narrow staircase that wound it's way to the top. We were stuck in a line that moved so slowly that we were just sitting on the tiny steps waiting half the time. It seemed like every country in the world was represented by someone in the line. We got into the crown and looked out the tiny windows and I realized how high we were and I got very nervous and wanted to get down. I'm glad I did it though.

I saw it from the Staten Island ferry, and yes it seemed big. But more impressive was that EVERYONE on the ferry went to the side so they could take pictures etc, I wondered if the captain had to compensate a little , that if that happens everytime

My dad always said how huge it was and how hard it is to walk up it. When i finally got there. I wasn't that impressed. It was a easy walk. I spent my time hitting up chicks visiting from Florida.

I was not suprised by the size. It was right after 9/11 and they had it closed so you couldn't go inside.
