or does anybody know how long it takes for a minor splinter to fall out? i know some require medical removal but i'm just talking about the little ones that will probably not infect/affect the skin & body.

If the splinter is in deep, or if the area looks red and swollen, you'll need a doctor's help to get it out. If not:
Step 1: Wash the area with soap and water.
Step 2: Apply a little white (Elmers) glue over the part of the splinter that's sticking out.
Step 3: When you peel off the dried glue, the splinter should come right out.
Step 4: Dab on an antibiotic ointment and cover with a bandage.
Or you can try Scotch tape, duct tape, or shipping tape can pull out that splinter fast. Just put the tape over the area where the splinter is and pull off the tape.

Sterilize a needle (burn the sharp end with a lit match or lighter). Have someone point a flashlight at the splinter. Have yourself or someone you trust take the needle and pick at the splinter spot until the top layer of your skin is picked off and the splinter is exposed. It doesn't hurt and you should not be bleeding. Pick the splinter out with tweezers.

Hot and Cold water alternated. It opens and closes the pores in a pumping action and sometimes will push shallow ones out. tweezers are good too. This technique is also good for getting fiber glass dust out of the skin ) just fyi

i don't know about needles, but i use a pair of tweezers to get splinters out. it hurts, but it works! just dig the tweezers in there, pull the splinter out, then put neosporin and a band-aid on it.

get someone to squeeze on either side of the splinter and it should poke the top part of it out. then use tweezers to pull it out.

Go to your local drug store and try something called "Black Drawing Salve" (not sure how to spell that) My mom had one that went all the way down her nail, the black stuff worked well.

Just put some peroxide on it, and it will probably come out by itself.
