Scientologists consider L. Ron Hubbard, a science fiction writer, to be the prophet of their 'religion'.

I don't know...Hinduism maybe?

If not that I'd say Budhism. Because religion means to reconnect to something, but Buddhists don't believe there is anything to reconnect TO. Therefore they aren't a religion.

To tell the truth though all real religions are started by a prophet. Abraham and Moses are kind of the standards for Judaism. John the Baptist started Christianity, seeing how he witnessed of Christ first. If not him, Paul's writings are the most used in Christianity today. You might say Christ started Christianity, and rightfully so- but he was a prophet also- and more than a prophet :)

Islam was started by Muhammad.
And Mormonism was started by the prophet Joseph Smith.

There are many religions in the world with each having certain beliefs that make them unique. Overall, most have more similarities than differences. Religions can be broken down in many ways. The easiest way to break them down is using the terms "revealed" and "natural."
A revealed religion is one that is based on Faith and Revelation. Essentially, God revealed his existence, law and will to an emissary called a prophet and then the prophet carried it to the world.
On the other hand, a natural religion is one that tends to be based on Nature. This type believes that Gods existence is not revealed by direct revelation but generally by observing nature and how it functions. From these descriptions it is obvious that most religions are a combination of the two but every religion will fall more into one category more than the other.

The major revealed religions are: Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism and Baha’ism.
The major natural religions are: Buddhism, Pantheism and Deism. Of the natural religions, Deism best fits the explanation of a natural religion as it is based on nature without revelation. Deism is a belief in God based on Reason, Experience and Nature (nature of the universe) rather than the divine revelations and holy books of revealed religion. Essentially, through the use of Reason, a belief in God is determined by the observation of the order and complexity found in nature and our own personal experiences of nature. The nature of God has been a point of contention for Deism because it has been defined as a religion that acknowledges a specific nature of God but in actuality it does not and leaves it up to the individual Deist to determine what they believe that nature to be. Overall, Deism is not a hard concept to understand as Deists use Reason and rational thought to develop their view on God, morals and life.

Something does not exist unless it had a beginning:

And, that, my dear prophet, just confuses the heck out of most people.

It leads to Bubba Preachers declaring that God has always existed.

Your dog thinks that you have always existed.

God may be the beginning and the end (alpha and omega) of this Earth. But I am quite sure that did not mean the beginning and end of all existence.

Who would believe that? ....... unless they were brain-washed from birth to rotely say it until they couldn't get it out of their system of logic (thick heads)

PS: Hinduism is a harmony-loving melting pot of religions and beliefs. (It has a multitude of Prophets). But, don't eat their cattle. Or, tug on Superman's cape. Or, step in their flower garden.

Get real: The Catholic Church? Have you ever heard of the Holy Emperor of Rome.

Atheism: Have you ever heard of the prophet Madilyn Mary Ohara.
(I know, I know. Atheism is not technically a religion. Unless you are really really fanatical about it.)

Whoops! Pastor Wlll ,,, Wrote this question. I guess my answer will rank last place.

"vanity oh vanity. woe is vanity."
