y cant my remote control switch off my aircon??
wat is the problem?
the aircon is quite new. at least 2 years.
if the remote is not spoilt, then wat are the likely reasons?
it is not common for the aircon to be spoilt like that, right?

In such circumstance, the likely cause are remote, battery or reception (located at fan coil/unit). Most of the time the likely cause are battery or the remote itself. Is yor aircon a split unit type ( system 2 or 3...) If it is, try using the other remote on the aircon concerned and vice versa to troubleshoot the cause

Did you check the battery in the remote control? Try changing the battery in the remote control and test again
