It depends on how she was killed. If she died on duty, it will be harder to get information. Try the public records of base - some bases have public records & others do not. Check the trusty internet to see who died in Austin at PublicRecordService.com

It WAS called Bergstrom. The base was closed at least 15 years ago. Now it is Austin's airport.

If your mother was "active duty" still do that, all office have a military liason staff member.
