This can cause weight gain, so can paxil. This is a top three of antidepressants that can cause weight gain. Fortunately I have been on it for...3-4 years and I lose weight at the beginning! I was changed to Cymbalta for awhile and HATED IT! Weight gain, suicidal thoughts, I just felt awful! Anyways I went back to Lexapro and feel better. The only reason they were changing me is because they thought it would help me with my joint pains but I got diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis so it has nothing to do with my depression...duh!

Anyways, I guess this med can make you gain weight. Sorry, but can make you feel great!

Lexapro my dear is for depression. Perhaps while you were depressed you lost weight. Now, your weight is stabalizing as your depression lifts. Why not get out and get some sunshine and a little exercise for about 30 min. a day. Does wonders for both conditions. Godloveya.
