I have been in the military 20 years Army and Air Force active duty and reserve respectively. What service is not as important as what career you get. Get the ASVAB book and study as if your future depends on it. All the recruiters will start calling and offer careers. Like X-ray tech or nuclear tech get the job you can do outside the service. A career spent changing tires on F-18's is boring and worthless. The marines will always try to get you to go in open. Get a job guarantee in writing.

I grew up as a sharcroppers son back in the fifties & sixties,i join the Navy but wanted the Marines ,a christian friend advise me to go Navy for the technical training they offer. I did and it and was trained in Interior Communications and got a good job when i got out with the telephone company.I went from $254.00 a month plus combat pay of $55.00 to $92.00 a week for the phone company, when i retired 35 1/2 years later i was making over $50,000.00 a year, plus full medical and retirement, which paid for a triple bypass,2 colon surgeries,1 gall bladder removal, appendix operation, and several other surgeries for myself as well as my family. If i had not had this insurance i would probably be dead.I thank God every day i think i made the right choice.Although i was eligible under the veterans benfits for these operations,i'm not certain they were as dependable then as they are now. Both branches are honorable military branches. There is an old saying"He who controls the seas controls the world" Good luck..If you want to serve in the Air Force its also a good branch and its a branch of the Army which will also give you good training. In this day & time all the services offer the latest in technical training because that is what the present & the future is using ---------- so study real hard in school so you can qualify for the best traning & you wont go wrong serving our country regardless of which branch you choose,-------just pick which uniform you like best they all are good and i hate to see their blood spilled.I'd rather it be mine than theirs,i'm old and retired & have lived they haven't.I sincerely hope this has enlighten you a bit good luck..

The Marine corps is a department of the Navy.

If your set on joining either one of those branches then I would go for the Marines. If your open to all branches of service then AirForce is the sweetest life of all of them. The Army would be the very last choice. The Navy is fine but couped up with a bunch of men on a ship for months at a time does not sound like a good time for any straight man.

I am going to be a navy pilot, so I say navy. Personally I think you should go to college first.

You can do both!

Become a Navy Corpsman!

Semper Fi!

Be a "doc" and also be a marine!

Very, very dangerous!
