Complement a lady on her smile, her wit, her sense of humor, intelligence, hair, but please refrain from corny lines and overused expressions, those are such a huge turn off and it only makes you seem like a dufus.

Compliment her on something nobody else does. Like if she has really beautiful eyes or gorgeous hair, she hears that all the time. Look a bit closer, and say instead, "Did anyone ever tell you that you have a cute nose?" (or sweet little ears or something).
Also be specific: don't say, "You look great in that outfit", but instead, "That shade of green really brings out the gold flecks in your eyes". Women are impressed by details.

how rhtetorical is this questions.. girls only like compliments... REAL compliments that means coming from your heart and only your heart ... girls can tell if you're trying too hard... they have like some psychic espn thing to read guys minds when we're hitting on em
