well it's called appropriation, it's when a group borrows or steals a word for example and assigns a new meaning onto it. So when black people say it, it is viewed as okay because now the word has a new connotation for them then it previously had. Other examples would be queer or b**ch

I really think that it's considered ok to use it when it's a black person and they add the letters "ah" at the end instead of "er." Either way it's totally wrong and if it is permitted for one group of people to use it, then all should...and if one cannot then none should.

If you have to say the "N word" then its probably a curse word to most people. I think blacks can you use the N-word but whites can't the same way fat people can call themselves fat but other people can't. Only whites using the N-word would be way more offensive I'm guessing.

my opinion on it is that everyone should be able to say it because if you think about it they call us all crackers and honkies and stuff like that and we aren't allowed to get offended by it but as soon as some one says it they get jumped or called racist i believe it is a word and shouldn't have an affect on the way everyone is looked at!!!!!!
