I think this will help.

1. NEVER EVER ate sugar. It's a poison that makes us older, sicker, fatter and tired...all things we dont want. Seriously, sugar is the one who does the dirty work in weight gain. Stop eating it all together.

2. Drink ALOT of water. 2-3 liters a day. The more the merrier! We need about half our body weight in ounces JUST for regular body functions! When you feel thirsty, that means you are already dehydrated and lose brain function. Water flushes toxins from your fat cells and keeps you younger.

3. Exercise!!! cardio 4-5 days a week for about 30 minutes a time.

4. Eat less. How many calories do you think is in that burger or that plate of fries or in that handful of chips. What about overfilling our plates?

5. Go to sleep before 10pm. Your body starts repairing and rebuilding and speeding up weight loss while you sleep only if you sleep at about 10pm. If you are awake and go to bed at 12, you miss out on that very important time.

6. BE POSITIVE. Be thankful every day and love yourself

7. BE CONSISTANT! That I think is the KEY to losing weight. So what if you went a week and only lost a pound...or didnt lose any...KEEP going. DON'T stop. This is a lifelong commitment, so stick to it and one day you will open your eyes and need a new wardrobe!

8. Eat more veggies and skinny friendly foods.
80% veggies at every meal including breakfast will keep you young and help you lose weight.

9. Do the little things that count!

Good luck and don't forget that YOU are the only one who decides what foods enter your body and how long you sit around. Make the change, take the chance and give yourself time! You can do it. I know you can!

The best advice anyone can give is the same old obvious advice about eating better and exercising more. The healthiest thing you can do is change your lifestyle to incorporate these ideals. However, as an amateur bodybuilder, I know from experience there are a variety ways to optimize weight loss. These techniques are illustrated in the many fad type diets that are popular in American today. It is important to remember, however, that many of the things you may read don't work, can be dangerous, or are just plain stupid. The truth in weight loss resides in caloric intake. Using more calories than you consume over a period of time will reduce body weight PERIOD. In the end, this is the way to lose weight.
That being said, you can learn more about a healthy diet/lifestyle on the Web. My personal recommendations would be to take initial body measurements, monitor a week of eating and determine an average caloric intake per day. Next, I would consciously work on consuming about 200-300 less calories per day, while working out for 45 minutes to and hour 3-5 days per week. Begin slow and allow yourself a few days a week to have off from exercise if you are not used to it. Remeber you are changing your lifestyle, not simply short term dieting. Also, you shoud eat 4-5 small meals a deal that add up to your target calie evel instead of 2-3 meals Americans usually get. This is vital and after a few weeks, your metabolism will thank you. Finally, make sure you get enough sleep each night as this is an incredibly important factor in all areas of health including weight loss ( hormome levels, stress levels, etc. ). Once you have accoplished these goals, you may want to tailor the specifics as you see fit. Some suggestions for optimization are: eating lower carb foods especially at night, eating foods lower in trans and saturated fat, eating more whole grains, or even incoporating weight training into your workouts. Remeber to set many small goals for yourself that when paired with intensity and hard work, wil add up to achievement of an amazing objective.

Hi! I'm in the same boat as you only it's about 30. BUT I do know from right before I had my baby I did this amazing workout and, let me tell you I was chubby my whole life, so when I found it it was Godsend. I went from a size 14 to a 9 ( I don't really look at lbs because we know muscle weighs more than fat). Anyways, go to http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/airforcejoin/a/afbasicworkout.htm and there is a workout to get you ready for bootcamp. Works wonders! It's pushups, situp, walking, jogging, but you start small and build up. I had to do a couple of the "weeks" more than once to get through it but by the workout in week 8 I had dropped a bunch of weight. I'm about to go back on it myself. Good luck to you!!

If you like grapefruits they help you lose weight. Just stay on a citrus diet and exercise daily and you should get down to your goal. I tried it earlier this year and within a week I had lost 5 pounds. I don't know if it works like that with everyone, but grapefruits do help.
