Enivormental Issues in Bay Area?

Does anyone know any enviormental issues in the Bay Area(California)? We are doing a year long project on it, we need 25 hours of commuinty serivces associted with this project with a supervisor and it needs to be something done about this enviromental topic issue.
So far Littering, Water Pollution, Batteries, Recyling, Invasive Plants has been taken.
The topics we need to choose should be something I can do about it in a local place.(If so where)

Pollution is hard to read about in the Bay Area because the Sierra Club and Green Peace take bribes to shut up from the Democrats when they do this there.
