Homosexual hypothetical question...?

Question

if you woke up one day to find out you were god (the christian god) and you were sittiing on your throne and someone in heaven came up to you and asked "why were you so displeased with homosexuality", what would you say?

i try never to be like the small minority of atheists that are abrasive, or vituperative
and call christians dumb, stupid, retarded or idiots
but for me this is one of those clear cut issues
we know through reason that stealing is wrong
we know through reason that cheating is wrong
we know through reason that killing is wrong

BUT we don't know through reason that homosexuality is wrong!

I would hope that these days a gay prince of princess could be open about it. The pressure to produce an heir, male if possible, is not what it used to be when Henry VIII went to the lengths of marrying six times in the hope of getting a son, and preferably two sons just to make sure. If they wanted to have a child who would succeed to the throne, they'd have to get married as illegitimate children don't count. And illegitimate children are still frowned upon, but truth be told, it's been normal for centuries for royalty and aristocracy to take to their bed whoever they like. Take King Charles II of England for example - he produced plenty of children with his mistresses, but none with his actual wife, so when he died, his younger brother became King. And there you have it - it would be the same as if a heterosexual king or queen couldn't produce children for any reason. The throne goes to a younger sibling, or if there isn't one, you go back up the family tree to their parents' siblings and their children, and keep going until you find the nearest relative still alive. It WOULD be a disaster to force a homosexual heir to the throne into marriage. I have a very good friend who is homosexual but got married because it was the "done thing". His wife died young of breast cancer which was probably a good thing for him as he didn't have to live a lie any more. So often this leads to the marriage breaking up because the homosexual partner sticks at it for years but sooner or later "wants out".

If I woke and found I was "god". I would be way to busy trying to fix the messes the last "god" and his followers made out of this planet. Thousand dying in a war started by a President elected by the lunatic-right-wing-Evangelicals. An AIDS pandemic while the corporations from the largest "christian" nation reap huge profits. Hundreds of children abused of decades by the priest and bishops that represent that "god.

I appreciate your respectfully-written inquiry, but I must say you are in fact misguided in your beliefs. Reason DOES tell us homosexuality is wrong, as well as premarital sex and any other sexual act God condemned in the Bible. It's called STD's, and the fact that one can die from disobeying one of His rules should tell one that that act is wrong. I'd say that's a pretty obvious answer. But thanks again for being respectful - on a website corrupted by belligerence and bigotry from all sides like this one, it is very appreciated to see someone like you balancing things out.
