There is so much you do not understand( I don't say that to put you down and I am not at all sure that I can explain it all to you but here goes)... The world will not "end" when Jesus comes back. The first thing that will happen,I believe,is the rapture. Though this word does not appear in the BIBLE, the translation for the word "harpazo" (caught up) can be translated as "rapture" from 1Thess.4;16-18 .After this a period of 7 years will pass during which time the earth will undergo the worst catastrophes it has ever seen. Then Jesus will return and THIS time everyone will see HIM coming in the clouds, the BIBLE says. Christ will set up HIS Kingdom in Jerusalem from which HE will rule for 1000 yrs. After this time, there will be a new Heaven and a new earth.
Yes,we look forward to HIS return because we have wanted nothing more since we got saved.
As for "revelations", it is Revelation. One Revelation, the Revelation of JESUS CHRIST. The revealing of one of the most misunderstood beings ever. When most ppl hear the word "revelations" they think of the "battle of Armageddon". This is when satan will gather his forces,(led by the anti-christ) in the valley of Har-megedon. There won't be a war. Jesus will destroy those who oppose HIM at that time.

I'd advise against overgeneralizing about the hope of all Christians regarding end time events. Some Christians, like me, hope that God will continue to delay the next coming of His Son Jesus, so more souls can be added to the Kingdom of Heaven. Some Christians fear physical death, so they hope the end times will come soon, so they can be raptured up to meet Jesus in the air when He returns to gather up His followers. Some find the study of end times so unclear or uninteresting that they have no hope regarding the end times. The bottom line is that there is no one single answer for all Christians about what our hope is regarding this particular issue.

Those that do seem more giddy about watching most of the world’s population suffer and being sent to Hell than they do about their special ‘rendezvous’ with some 2000 year old Semitic hippie.

They are the antithesis of what they profess to be true. They are miserable unhappy people who hate humanity and are pathological liars. More than any group of people on earth, they had better hope and pray that there is no God. What kind of God prefers mean and stupid people over all others?

The Bible does not say anywhere that the world will end. What it means by "end" is the end of an age or an end of mankind's way of doing things. God has let humanity do whatever for thousands of years and look at the way things are going. All these countries want to make nuclear weapons and blow up the earth. When Jesus comes back he is going to prevent us from becoming extinct. The earth is going to be here forever thanks to him. It's not going to suddenly blow up one day.

Christians are humans too; they don't all feel the same way as each other. There is no definitive answer to a question as generalized as that. Personally, I would like to live a full life without the inconvenience of the apocalypse, but that's just me.

Some do, some don't. The Bible promises a blessing for those who look forward to the return of Christ. But even for some Christians, the concept of the unknown still makes them antsy about hoping for His return.
