even the sixs are fast with the new 4.0 ohc v6 and 205 hp

For bang for your buck in the sports car market, The Corvette is the best buy, but the Mustang is a Muscle Car NOT a sports car per se!
For cheap performance the Mustang is on a page all its own!

For around $20K, the Mustang is a pretty nice car. Gearheads here will laugh when you talk about Mustang and "sports car" in the same sentence, but the general public believes otherwise.
Plain and simple, to the general public, the Mustang is a very nice sports car and the kicker is that they can afford to buy one. Are there better cars? You have to define "better".

It depends on how you define better. For example a Ferrari Enzo accelerates better, handles better but is well out of reach of the average person. Also are you talking about modern mustangs or are you talking about classic mustangs. It seems to me you need to learn a little bit more about cars and put more thought into your questions and I'm not just saying that because I love Mustangs.

Well of course there are, but not for the price...lol. Mustang's are kickass cars, especially an older 5.0 for like $4K. Crappy interior, but timeless exterior and performance. But if price is no object.....GT500 baby! Minus 500 pounds maybe...!

but a Ford GT. It's got it all and is hands down the
