I have read materials from the 1960's and 1970's, including the Encyclopedia Brittanica and WorldBook Encyclopedia, and although theey have givne kudos to the Eastern religions, they siad nothing about new age and paganism. Their only references to witchcraft is personal stupidity based upon fantasy, not demonica or religion. This reference instates that witchcraft is mere superstition, not demonic magic nor long-lost religion. To me, this whole mix-up is BASED UPON SOMETHING ELSE because there is no other Western tradition that rivals the East. I am referring to the most respected resources and not garbage, for you should have seen the garbage I laid eyes upon, and they were ugly! Again, I was being neutral, for if I am lying about my testimony, then cast a spell and hope I die. Put tme on the cross and hope and pray that I will NEVER resurrect, for I hate to see someone cry. Again, I testify by my own age and religious beliefs, whatever they may be.

When dealing with questions pertaining to spirituality and religion one must first define the meaning of the word "real". At the moment I am having 'fun' reading about "Humanism". The case for which is, basically, as clear as mud.
A great many of the "witchcraft" mythologies are based upon specious logic and a lack of scientific understanding. Did You know that 'wheat rust' gives the same effects as LSD? Or that throughout various periods of history cereal diseases have caused hallucinogenic episodes to transpire in Dark, Medieval and Renascence Europe? People thought that They could fly. Is it any wonders that some believed that They had seen the Devil?
Just be cynical, and question everything that comes Your way.

Due to technology and the internet etc etc a lot of information is surfacing very quickly about different topics. They are all real but it really depends on what you mean by are they for real and whose perspective you are looking at them with. The catholic church would like you to think they are satan worshipping cults. In reality Wicca is an Occult practice meaning 'hidden' A lot of the truth about Occult practices are hidden from the general public which would make the catholic church an occult religion because a lot of the information is locked up in the vatican and is not available to the public. As with the test of time things change including cults and religions. Man corrupts them and chineese whispers change texts. Best of luck with your research and may your open minded journey lead you to the truth.

Pagan and Wiccan rites are not apparently demonic in nature. They are ancient religions and the basis of them is worship of the Earth. The place where they can be attributed as demonic is when people receive spiritual powers from the elements or the Earth. The reason why this considered demonic is that Christians believe all power comes from The Lord, but if people are gaining power from a source other than The Lord than it is possible that this power is coming from evil force, a demonic force if you will. That's about it.

To myself, and many other neo-pagans it is VERY real. As real as any other faith, maybe even more real, as many of us worship a tangible deity (Nature).

As far as books go.... don't rely on them for info about living oral traditions. It's like asking a credit card about waffles. You will find little of value in them about true magical workings.

And with that sentence, you remove all doubt as to your ignorance of Wicca and its beliefs.

Thank you for the two points.

Yes they are for real, Get the book He came to set the Captives Free, and you will learn more about it. Also the Bible speaks a lot about keeping away from magic, or anything to do with witchcraft. That is Satan, and that is how he pulls people away from God. He uses all the things God said not to get involved in.

The Bible tells of false prophets and false teachers. You aren't supposed to believe them. Only Jesus is historically correct because He is Our Lord and Savior.

Merry Christmas.

try looking up the pentecostal church in those same books, it probably won't be there either. just because YOU don't believe it, doesn't mean its not a religion. However, your bigotry iswrong.
