How do I record a movie from T.V. onto a video tape with a video player.?

I already have the blank tape.

I already tried putting the cideo in and pressing record. The word "record" did not light up.

Some recorders require you to push play and record at the same time.

Make sure the tabs on the side of the video tape have not been removed. They prevent you from recording on that tape. If they are removed, put a piece of tape over the tab openings or use a different tape.
