If you want it fast and easy, get yourself a container of any kind of white icing (Duncan hi mes, Betty crock er,vanilla or fluffy white
which ever you like) and some good old fashion food coloring.
then you can make just enough of each color that you need.

I usually take a box of powdered sugar, and add a teaspoon or two of vanilla, a 1/2 stick of butter, about 2 tablespoons of milk to start, and I use my hand mixer to cream it all together. Gradually add enough milk to get your desired consistency. (If you need thin frosting you will use quite a bit more milk.) You can divide this frosting into 4 bowls and add different colors to them. We also use zip lock bags in place of pastry bags-just cut a LITTLE off of the corner, remove all of the air, zip it shut and twist. Perfect for decorating, and when you are done, just toss them away....

Icing
1 egg white
¾ cup shortening
1-2 tsp vanilla
4 T (¼ cup) milk
1 box (16 oz) 10X confectioner’s sugar
Mix together until smooth.
To color, add food color a few drops at a time until it's the color you want. Remember, if you add too much color, the icing will taste bitter.

To a cereal bowl of powdered sugar add just a few drops of milk and stir. Keep adding milk by drops until you get the consistency you want. Separate into however many colors you want in separate bowls. Add food coloring.

Very very very easy and quite tasty, if I do say so myself.
"White Mountain Icing"
½ cup sugar
¼ cup white karo
2 T water
2 egg whites
1 t vanilla
Boil sugar, karo and water to firm balls stage (242°). Cooks quickly. Beat egg whites until stiff enough to peak. Pour hot syrup slowly over whites while beating. Add vanilla and mix.
Makes nice soft workable icing.

yea you can make the powdered sugar and milk one but instead of vanilla you can add a little lemon extract or orange extract. It turns out great, I did it today on my christmas cookies and wow yummy!
