from Wikipedia:
"Clay is a term used to describe a group of hydrous aluminium phyllosilicate (phyllosilicates being a subgroup of silicate minerals) minerals (see clay minerals), that are typically less than 2 μm (micrometres) in diameter. Clay consists of a variety of phyllosilicate minerals rich in silicon and aluminium oxides and hydroxides which include variable amounts of structural water."

An Azimov fan, are ya? Good damned question. Like if he wanted to make us out of clay he really should have gone for a much hotter atmosphere, maybe Mercury but then there's no atmosphere. Ok, how's this, maybe the planet he was terraforming for silicon based life forms wasn't complete but he had all the myth scripts printed up so he just went with earth and carbon based life.

Because God is an atomic physicist. If the sun can fuse hydrogen and create helium, I'm sure God can turn silicon into carbon.

What difference does it make how humans were created.
we are here on the planet. we live and we die. so what. it only matters that during you time on earth, you are happy. the only true way to happiness is by living your life with pure integrity. which has nothing to do with a god or what ever you want to call it.

He also changed water into wine. Think about that one.

He's God. It's his universe. He made the stuff we are made of, and when he wants to walk on water, he does that too.
