You cannot get in trouble, so don't worry about it.....And for the people who say its aiding and abetting a criminal, that is baloney.....Did you know that churches, NOT just the catholic church, but Christian churches, also aid and help illegals, do you see any churches being closed down for that?

Yes! The conscience use of false documents to marry an illegal immigrant would make the marriage illegitimate, and it would be the same as smuggling illegal immigrants across the boarder.

Soon the law may become stricter and make it a felony to be an illegal immigrant, and a felony to help an illegal immigrant as well.

Absolutely. It's called aiding and abetting a criminal. Section 1324 of the U.S. Code and Section 274 of the INA state that it is a felony for anyone to hire, harbor or help an illegal alien and that the penalties include fines, imprisonment, deportation and forfeiture of property used to commit the crime.

False papers is fraud and is a crime -- felony. It's time for Zero tolerance for these types of crimes. Turn yourself in and beg for forgiveness or go back to your spouse's country of origin and get in line.

Depends on the situation. You may not be even legally married, depending on the extent of the fraud(false names, etc). You can't get in trouble for marrying him, but he can get in trouble with those false papers. Trouble that could deport him, after he serves a prison sentence. BUT---
Do not obtain a home loan with this person, or utilize those papers yourself in any manner. Doing so is fraud on your part, and possibly also conspiracy to commit fraud.

The legal term is AIDING and ABETTING a fugitive. Yes, you can get busted for it.
You wouldn't let people cut in line in front of you, would you? That is what that that person has done.

Read the legal facts,not heresay
Federal Immigration and Nationality Act
Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)

It is a felony for the purpose of evading any provision of federal immigration law. Violators may be fined or imprisoned for up to five years.

Encouraging and Harboring Illegal Aliens
It is a violation of law for any person to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection in any place, including any building or means of transportation, any alien who is in the United States in violation of law. HARBORING MEANS ANY CONDUCT THAT TENDS TO SUBSTANTIALLY FACILITATE AN ALIEN TO REMAIN IN THE U.S. ILLEGALLY. The sheltering need not be clandestine, and harboring covers aliens arrested outdoors, as well as in a building. This provision includes harboring an alien who entered the U.S. legally but has since lost his legal status.

Actual specific knowledge is not required. For example, a newspaper article stating that ballrooms depend on an illegal alien work force of dance hostesses was held by the courts to be a reasonable ground for suspicion that unlawful conduct had occurred.

IT IS ILLEGAL FOR NONPROFIT OR RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS to knowingly assist an employer to violate employment sanctions, REGARDLESS OF CLAIMS THAT THEIR CONVICTIONS REQUIRE THEM TO ASSIST ALIENS. Harboring or aiding illegal aliens is not protected by the First Amendment. It is a felony to establish a commercial enterprise for the purpose of evading any provision of federal immigration law. Violators may be fined or imprisoned for up to five years.
