My Daughter did one year ago last August. Her smile is amazing and perfect. Before surgery she had an underbite and her upper jaw was smaller than her lower so when she bit down the teeth did not touch. She had a Lafort Ostonomy. They moved her upper jaw forward, and widened it and lowered it. Now her teeth touch and her smile is beyond amazing.

She has said many times that it was well worth it and would do it again in a heart beat if needed. There is no extreme pain as the mouth goes temporarily numb and by the time the feeling returns the mouth is healed. She told me the worse part of the whole surgery was not being able to breathe out of her nose as they cut through the sinuses and you cannot blow your nose for 6 weeks. Blowing your nose causes the stuff to go in your face and not out your nose.

This was a major help to my daughter. http://www.zip-n-squeeze.com/
