dreams is a topic of interest for many researchers....some believe that they are just random activities and some believe that they have to do with yer daily activities, your state of mind, etc.

Now I do believe the way you think what you have gone through for the past few days reflect in yer dreams...you might remember what you dreamt of last night (thats a different story)....so interpretting your dreams is also difficult, I exactly can't remember any single dream, so how can I interpret it.

but it is easy to find out if you had a scary dream (you get up in a state of shock) or good one (you get up smiling or for some maybe a night fall...hehhe!)

Yes, depression can make a person have bad dreams. But it is possible to have bad dreams without being clinically depressed.
Mainly, it is stress or anxiety, tension that cause people to have bad dreams (as far as mental states go)
I think that when you dream, it is actually therapeutic. It is the way your subconscious mind attempts to sort things out. That is not a scientific answer, but I truly believe it. If you have alot of stress or negativity in your life, you may have bad dreams. Think of what they might be trying to tell you. Something in the dream might relate (symbolically) to what is wrong. And you don't need an interpretation dictionary, just think of what that image or event means to you and how it made you feel. You might be surprised what you uncover.
Other things can cause bad dreams. Illnesses, medications, changes in medications, using drugs or alcohol. (I'm thinking chemical imbalance here independent of mood or thoughts)

Well, good luck and hope you resolve this.

absolutly depression and bad dreams go hand in hand, because our minds rule our bodies. see even when our bodies are sleeping our mind isn't. so the things we experience are still being played out in our minds as we sleep even though we aren't aware of it. but our minds tend to clump the events together and mix them up so that when we dream they are played out but usually not how we exprienced them. and hurt and anger, depression etc...can form bad things in our dreams because that is how we interpret the hurt and anger etc...so conclusion your feelings are going to affect your dreams.

not sure but I think it has something to do with your subconcious dealing with the emotion. also, I have heard that you dream about whatever you are thinking about when you fall asleep.
