I am putting together a gift basket for my boyfriends mother, whom I am meeting for the first time at Christmas. All I know about this woman is that she likes to drink cold or iced tea. However, I am not a tea drinker and know nothing about it. So if anyone has any ideas for brands or flavors of tea I could include, as well as accompanying food like cookies or biscuits, whatever, I would appreciate it. Please help me!!! Thank you.

If she likes iced tea - she is probably from the South - which means she will probably want Luzianne tea. I love tea and all tea things - so this is what I would make up a gift basket with -

Put in some really nice iced teaspoons and some pretty tea glasses. You could do a whole color coordinated basket with the glasses, tea napkins and/or coasters, spoons. Then a nice flavored syrup (they sell them in the supermarket) - like peach or raspberry - would be WONDERFUL! Then just add some cookies - like pirolines or almond crescents. That would be a beautiful basket - and so useful too! Good luck with meeting her! Merry Christmas!

I am a drinker of Lipton Raspberry Iced Tea. They come in single bottles. They have lots of flavors though. Why don't you get as much that will fit in the basket of different flavors. I think that would be nice. Try the more expensive cookies, like Milano. Something she probably doesn't buy herself. And maybe the crackers too. They have so many different crackers it's hard to say. But the nicer ones of those too. Hope this helps. I'm sure she will love your gift. I think it is a very nice idea. Good luck meeting her for the first time and have a Merry Christmas!

Tradewinds makes the best Ice Tea and you can buy single serve bottles. Also Lipton makes a cold brew Ice Tea in packets. Good Luck and you should try some. Buy this person a sun tea pitcher, to be able to brew tea in the sun. This is the best way to make good back home tea! They will appreciate it!
Butter cookies go good with anything! Tea bag spoons are another idea-They drain the tea bag for you. No mess.

If she's from the south, she'll drink it with sugar and it'll be Luzianne or Lipton. I would recommend you check your local WalMart or Target for a Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Maker (about $20). She can make it sweet if she puts the sugar in the bottom of the pitcher and doesn't add ice until it's done. Most of us have our "tea" pan and our "tea" pitcher because it stains both. The Iced Tea Maker is a nice gift. As for cookies, go for something pretty simple from a real bakery (not the supermarket one).

I personally like green tea, jasmine tea, red rasberry tea. What I would suggest is to get a basket of some kind and put different types of tea. (Green, Jasmine, Red Rasberry, Lemon) individual packets in there. With maybe some cheese and crackers or a shortbread cookie. Something not real sweet and maybe a small glass dish with some sugar cubes. Maybe a tea ball (you can find these at chinese stores or in baking departments) I use loose tea and always use one of these to keep the tea leaves from getting into my drink. This will make a great gift for someone that likes tea.

If she is a real tea drinker, get her some gormet tea bags and she will boil them, add sugar or honey and ice and MMMMMMM Im gonna go make some right now. Also add some fresh mint to the basket. Everyone loves mint tea after they have tasted it. Stay away from syrups though!

Lipton is the most popular and Luzianne is the best. Also they make a Mr. Tea which is like the Mr. Coffee. which makes an ammount which is a bit smaller than the huge tea pitchers hold. Tea spoils as quickly as most foods and drinks.

Well I'm a sweet tea fanatic just get some Lipton Ice tea bags and that's it you do have to boil them. Fill the pitcher with ice and sugar and then add tea bags, In the south we don't accompany the tea with anything except a lemon wedge!

You're probably not getting enough caffeine from the tea. Coffee has more caffeine in it, so you'd need to drink more tea to make up the difference. And maybe you're giving yourself a brain freeze on top of that when you're drinking it iced. Try to keep it off the roof of your mouth.

If you live in a larger city, you could look for a tea specialty shop and shop there. That would be my first recommendation.

I love Starbuck's black iced tea - they literally just take black tea (their brand) and boil it and mix it with cold water and ice and I am a happy camper.

As for cookies or biscuits, pick out some of your favorites - those show you like her enough to share what you like to go with what she likes.

Good luck!
