Video games can cause burn in because games have lot of static images on the screens that don't move you'll notice those areas of the picture might be slightly darker. It all depends how long you play video games and the type of video games.You have to watch out mostly for score boards in video games left on for an extended periods of time that could cause permanent ghost images.
New generation of plasma panels made by Panasonic have constant pixel shifting and these are highly resistant to burn in.Some other brands like LG has a built in feature called Whitewash that can realign the pixels with one touch on the remote, even after the burn in has happened.

YES! You can safely play your Wii. The only time you will get a burnin in your screen is if you turn the system and the tv on (connected) and pause the game for a few weeks straight... other then that, ENJOY YOUR SYSTEM :)

You can as long as the image isnt constant all the time. If there is a logo that is in the same spot all the time you will get a burn in. So as long as the image on your screen is constantly changing you will be fine.
