Yes, they do! But you have to put a special thing in your mouth to heal them. Ask your doctor.

I never had any scars in my mouth, BUT when I had the e chains (spelling?) on I literally peirced my tongue 2x in the same exact spot. Every now and then I get a knot where the wire went through. (almost 3 yrs later) I realize I didn't answer your question, sorry..... Ask the ortho when you go back in, they may have something to help with it, if it bothers you.

Usually they heal up. I have a bad one that still is slightly there.

but u can ask your orthodontist
but it think they would heal after a while
