Have you ever heard of using the antidepressant Elavil for vomiting if you don't have depression?

My doctor prescribed it and I think it is strange.

Elavil is prescribed for the relief of symptoms of mental depression. It is a member of the group of drugs called tricyclic antidepressants. Some doctors also prescribe Elavil to treat bulimia (an eating disorder), to control chronic pain, to prevent migraine headaches, and to treat a pathological weeping and laughing syndrome associated with multiple sclerosis.

Hi Red Sure there are so many things these days that could help you.. Check the many websites available. I would like to say to you to take care.. When I had I first child, postnatal depression was either not know, not recognised or not made public.. I remember those days so well.. No sleep Not able to sit because of the many stitches, could only kneel... I remember when people came, knocked on the door.. I shut the curtains, did not want to see anyone.. I had no appetite, sometimes I ate a slice of bread to stop the sickness. I am sure now this has been realised as a symptom of childbirth (hormonal of course) there are many options open to new mothers. Just wish they had been there when I, and many others were suffering from these symptoms.. Perhaps this is the reason, like myself, so many other women suffer from depression now! I am sure you will find many options open to you to try. Seek the the help of your Health Visitor, Doctor or even your next visit to the anti-natal clinic.. I'm sure will find help there... A friend..

i think all anitdepressant are bull...they give em to you when they dont want to deal with the real issues...plus they make more money by writing a script
