you can mix equal amounts household ammonia and hydrogen peroxide. it stinks like heck but will lighten your hair, and don't worry it isn't like mixing regular chlorine bleach with ammonia which could kill you from the fumes, hydrogen peroxide is the same thing as developer used in hair dyes, but half the strenght, and most hair colors are made with ammonia.
You can also use lemon juice, but the results are probably less than you are looking for. you'd have to do it many times to get anywhere.
oh, and NEVER use chlorine bleach on your hair, it is for clothes only! chlorine will turn your hair a nasty shade of green and is very damaging. it is NOT the same as hydrogen peroxide.

One thing you asked about was body hair. I would try waxing as opposed to trying to "naturally" lighten it. If the thought of waxing makes you cringe for your body hair, then I would suggest using a bleaching product. You'll sit there for days trying to lighten your arm, leg, lip hair etc. with lemon juice or homemade kitchen stuff.
If you have a DARK natural hair color "Sun-In" on your hair will do nothing but turn your hair orange. Lemon Juice may change it slightly, but probably not the amount your looking for. If salon costs are too much for you, try going to a local beauty school to have some highlights done.

I was always told lemon juice helps. The citrus juice is suoopsed to lift the cuticle and open it up to become lighter.
