Help! I am going out to the bar tonight and I want to drink something different. I usually drink beer. Here's the deal, it's two for ones. Any ideas?

I'm a "Rum" guy when I drink liquor. Cuba Libre's are my fave. Stay away from the Ron Rico & other cheap crap. Go with Myers. If gin is your game, then go for Bombay or Tangueray.

Like you, I mostly drink beer, but I stay away from most American stuff. Unless it's a good micro brew or Sam Adams. Miller, Bud & Coors are just plain crap. I usually go for a good German brew such as Warsteiner or Bitburger. I also like most British/Scottish/Belgian stuff and nothing goes down as smooth as a Guiness Draught or (Irish) Wexford Cream Ale.

And what ever you do, DO NOT mix your liquors, i.e. rum, vodka, gin. You'll be sorry.

I usually drink crown and coke but it depends on your personal taste. Make sure you do a jager bomb cuz it might be the greatest thing ever invented. Ask the bartender to make you a surprise... done that before and it always turns out good. Kamikazies are great if they are made right, and special shots like chocolate cake and dr. pepper can be fun if done with a group because they actually taste like what they are called.

+ here is a better deal. Have a glass of water between each drink so that you can really taste them. decide on a liquor that you might like. Let me suggest vodka for someone new to this, and try several vodka based drinks.
Try to keep it to about 4 things to try or you will start missing some of the flavors.
Good Luck

Stick to one kind of alcohol, premium vodka would be the best, mixed with a sugar free mixer and you will have less of a hangover.
Try Three Olives Cherry with diet cola if they have it, or Skyy Vanilla with diet cola. Or, Belvedere with soda water is always a clean option.
Plus you won't get a beer belly!
