Jail or Prison, they are 2 different places. Jail is the city/county run facility, prison is a stae run facility. many states now have Department of Corrections websight, which will allow you to search there inmate population. Ga does.

You should check with the state department of corrections. They will have websites were you can search for inmates by name...If the person was an Illinois resident and was serving in Illinois -- it would tell you at what facility they were at. Beyond that I can't help you -- but I hope you find whoever you are looking for. Best of luck.

go to either yahoo search or google search and type in clerk of courts in your county, state. then some websites will hopefully come up, and then you should be able to find the homepage of your court, and then you can go from there.
