no way! 19 is the minimum BMI that a person should have, and people are in a healthy weight range all the way to 24 or 25. Those other answers are wrong and stupid. The girl with a 17 BMI is most likely very unhealthy. Be glad you're healthy and in a good weight range!

Because most people are idiots! If you feel pudgy at your current weight, lose a couple pounds! However, if you are losing weight to make others happy (or live up to some societal standard) SCREW THEM! A BMI of 20-24 is fine for a 5'5" woman! If you are under 18, you should not EVEN be worrying about a pound here-or-there!

No, that is not overweight. You only have to worry if you have a BMI of more than 25. HTH : )
